2013 here you come!

One more day before the Gregorian new year which means, MORE crazy next semester and God willing I should excel it! Aww yeahh. No more slacking and full force it is! Also I seriously need to brush up my sketching skills and polish up this little thing my friend and I preparing for next year Penang urban sketchers here I come! Much love and good luck for next year! Kader xD

Semester break has come, Finally.

...and its going to go quickly as well :( Owh time, thou troll les humanidad. First up however, is to clean my computer! I mean look at those red bars! I sincerely have no clue as to how my 1TB hard drive, which was supposedly 'un-fillable' due to my meagre ADSL broadband, managed to do just that, pretty quickly. Maybe its these texture files, which have an average file size of 64MB [Damn Targa files!] ...and yep, those working files for the textures, the PSDs weigh as much as 500MB [No idea why, how you work, Photoshop?] I guess it's pretty much needed for beautiful high-resolution textures!  [look up! isn't it wonderful?] Which isn't so bad if they can make these pretty images! Owh I found these gems while cleaning up.  "Owh, i'm just gonna stare at my magically levitating Surface Table while I workout." No comment.  The face.

the season is here!

Watch "Epic Official Trailer #1 (2013) Amanda Seyfried, Beyoncé Animated Movie HD" on YouTube So basically the season is here where Hollywood decides to release the awesomest movies we all have been waititng for. Rise of the Guardians, Wreck it Ralph are the movies I have been wanting to watch reeaallyyy badly. Lovely characters and interesting stories, but that's where it stop. I haven't had the opportunity to check them out yet due to loaddsss of homework and assignments piling up.  Then this Epic trailer comes and now I feel like a fix for animated features -.- epic looks promising and I am looking forward to may 13th 2013 to watch it xD

Week 11

The final four weeks at the end of every semester in this college can be considered as a maniacal, huru-hara kind of nightmare. this is when final projects kick in, and they are usually difficult and time-consuming to do. AHH YES, TIME. Exactly what I am lacking (or wasting?). With religious obligations over the next two weeks clashing beautifully with the projects, it has become quite a chore, BUT FRET NOT, for I have no choice but to lose sleep :S WHO NEEDS SLEEP ANYWAYS? Be an owl! Hoot! Hoot! Source:  Softies Central  NOW ALLOW ME TO HAVE ANOTHER CUP OF SATURATED COFFEE. Perhaps this is why the Red Universe in Fringe didn't have any left. We all had gobbled it all up :P

Sketching Marathon

The one Academy's Sketch Marathon  was in a word, NUTS, AND HIGH. like drugged high. For some really weird reason i felt really really excited, probably because i got to hang out with my friends from other courses AGAIN! WEEEE~~ back to the classical old 3P days. ALL SEATED IN AN AWESOME ROW. it was held at Gurney Paragon, and owh my IS IT RICH. But who do people pay premium prices to stay in front of sewage-garbage filled coastline is something I will never be able to understand, owh well, not my problem if they fall sick :P My college was really awesome at preparing everything and making it convenient to understand the lecture. As you can see in the photo above, that was the sketch the guest speaker was drawing and how easy he made it look. I CAN'T EVEN DRAW A STRAIGHT LINE PROPERLY. But that's okay. He said just be calm, and the lines do the work. It takes lots of patience and time, something which I lack in myself, except when it comes to downl...

Graph editors

pretty graph editors are pretty, especially in step-tangent mode. those seemingly random, yet totally geometric-looking ARE PRETTAY.

Digital painting

So my terrifically terrible Superman painting was reviewed by the lec [Carson!] and he just, laughed [in a good way] then presented me with some commandments to follow by when painting with Photoshop. And I promise that he did the exact same thing, right in front of me, from the beginning to the end. Here's his result compared to mine *pokerface* O.o *jumps off Penang Bridge*

Ready, set, Action!

Animating the flour sack has been though, but not impossible. After 3 hours, i finally got the blarrdy thing working! fully keyframed, now waiting for my lecturer to freak out, as i doubled the time of the animation =.= BRAIN SO MUCH IMAGINASHUN.

Prometheus Breakdown is out!

So, Ridley Scott's epic movie, Prometheus' Visual Effects reel is out and they look AMAZING! *___* One thing I noticed though, is that through-out the entire production process, there is so much detail weighted in and applied. However in the final composite, what you see in the movie is most likely covered with dust, hence taking out all those details the modellers  texture artists and digital sculptors have work so tirelessly on :(

CHoo! Choo!

Choo! Choo! you hear that? that's how my week is gonna go by this week! so many awesome assignments to be handed in this week, and trying my best NOT to rush them, but do them in an orderly manner. Also, do you realise when you have lots of work, your desktop and desktop [your desk-top] becomes more and more cluttered? Also here's a shot of my upcoming final project, in pre-vis state [ yes Farida, it's for you] Yep, i managed to sneak in a little of Portal in there. The floursack is basically Chell. It's even dressed like her!

How to know you are screwed.

So apparently my latest assignment submission did not really fancy my Sire. Therefore, I shall now beg for mercy.

ASSIGNMENTS ASSIGNMENTS!

A prelude to the semester's final projects have begun! Here's what I gotta do over this week: 1. Design a freakin' penthouse, IN PERSPECTIVE! 2. complete 80% 3D modelling, which is now at around 0.25% complete. That's me virtually literally flipping a table out of the window [but failed] 3. FLOUR SACK! aww yeah i have to act like one over the weekend :D the video will be flour-larious! 4. Inception! gotta write a 3 page long review, scene breakdown, act breakdowns, shot breakdowns 5. Let's see if this saturday my group will be able to meet up PROPERLY with 100% attendence. I have a feeling one will say 'no petrol' and the other will say 'i'm sick' or  'busy'. we haven't even finalised our script yet! 6. WORST SUPERMAN DRAWING EVER. YES. I did that. I ripped off Superman's trousers, leaving him only in undies and boots. EVIL ME! and I gave him rocket shoes O.o

Sunrises, and hopes for the day.

That picture was taken this morning in my backyard. Monsoon sunrises are something beautiful I just discovered, and sunrises in whole, are. just. BEAUTIFUL. They signify hopes and goals of the day and what I wish to achieve today is to not get screwed by the lecturer, for losing my Maya scene (.mb) file.
